From one season to the next

ree

As the new season begins here's a look back at 2024 2025.

It was another great season beginning with a Prom at Blackpool's majestic Grand Theatre featuring Jane Irwin. Our November collaboration with Preston Opera, which kickstarted their 60th season, was a roaring success.

We began 2025 with our annual Come and Play String Day which included a favourite, Vivaldi's Concerto for Strings in D Major. This is an opportunity for our string players to work on different repertoire and also enables players from across the wider region to join us for a lovely day of music making.

The programme in March introduced many members of the orchestra and audience to new repertoire including Holst's Japanese Suite and Mayer's Overture in D minor.

Our concert season ended with a rousing concert featuring the talented soloist, Leo Stemp for Arutunian's Trumpet Concerto and ended with the mighty Beethoven Symphony No. 8.

We have loved making music together and playing for you this last season. Thank you to all the musicians who have joined us this year and of course our wonderful audience without whom we wouldn't exist.

If anyone is reading this and is interested in joining to play this season please do get in touch by email blackpoolsymphony@gmail.com

Our 2025-26 season begins with a Halloween Prom at the Grand Theatre Blackpool on 2 November.
