Lindsay Benson
For over 30 years, Lindsay touched our lives and music as the Principal Flautist for the Blackpool Symphony Orchestra. Her incredible musicianship, warmth, and vibrant personality left an irreplaceable mark on our orchestra and the entire local music community.
To celebrate her extraordinary life, a special memorial concert was held on October 10th 2026 by her family and friends at Lancaster Priory, organised by her husband and our principal bassoonist, Russell Irwin.
If you were unable to attend but would still like to honor Lindsay's memory and support a cause so close to all of our hearts, you can still make a donation directly to her tribute page.
All proceeds go to support life-saving research:
Thank you to everyone in the BSO family and wider community for your continued support as we honour Lindsay’s legacy.
