Mahler 4!

This was our first, but hopefully not our only, come and play orchestral play day.

We welcomed players from far and wide including Sussex, Lincoln and Liverpool as well as some of our own players. It was a fantastic day playing a fabulous work.

We are very grateful to the Gustav Mahler Society UK for their donation towards the day

which supported us to provide free places to eleven under 19s and full time students.

"What a great day exploring this monumental work of art with players from across the country at Blackpool Symphony Orchestra Come and Play day. Thankyou one and all for super playing. A huge thankyou to our legendary Committee for all their hard work that enables this music to happen.

Two very special thank yous to the wonderful Alexandra Stemp leading our Orchestra and of course for the scordatura violin solo and Juliet Montgomery whose performance was simply sublime; an absolute joy to accompany.

Such immense, sublime music."
