We started the season in September with Last Night at the Proms.
This featured a commission, Cityscapes, from Edward Rugman, our composer in residence. We loved having saxaphones and a bass flute in the orchestra.
We were joined by Poulton People's Choir in the second half for all the Prom favourites.
Our November concert took us to Preston for A Night at the Opera with Preston Opera. The two videos below give you a taste of what a great evening it was.
In March our programme included Brahms Symphony No 1 in C minor. The concert was a sell out and the feedback we received from the audience showed they enjoyed listening as much as we enjoyed playing.
"What a concert it was! During the Brahmns I was frequently in '7th heaven': the performance was very close to professional - as near as makes no difference!"
Our final concert of this season in July featured our principal clarinestist, Claire Shipway with a fantastic performance of Weber's Clarinet Concerto. Wagner's Sigfried Idyll was also a new piece of repertoire for many of members and audience.
