"Full of joy after a nomumental concert with the wonderful players of Blackpool Symphony Orchestra playing a monumental programme with such style and panache" Helen Harrison
We loved getting to know Beach's Gaelic Symphony and going by the spontaneous applause after every movement we think the audience loved it to.
After the interval we continued with folk-inspired works, beginning with Old Wine in New Bottles a work for woodwind and horns. Strings joined the wind for Bartok's Fomanian Dances and then full orchestra for Vaughan Williams Fold Song Suite. We finished the afternoon with the rousing William Tell by Rossini.
