Online String Day, Waitrose Magazine and 'Bringing Music Back'

Members of BSO, including our Musical Director Helen Harrison, have been interviewed for a piece on amateur music making during lockdown which appeared in the on-line Waitrose Weekend magazine. Read 'The unstoppable joy of the orchestra' here https://weekend-online.com/issue546/mobile/index.html#p=34

On Saturday 24 April 2021 we enjoyed our second online come and play string afternoon where regular members were joined by musicians from all over the country.

We began, as is our tradition, with Libertango, which was followed by Plink, Plank, Plunk. We then enjoyed a play through of Fantasiestucke no 5 Dance by Coleridge-Taylor before tackling the main work of the afternoon, Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis.

Plans are in full swing for a return to live music with the first of our Centenary +1 concerts, 'Bringing Music Back' on Saturday 3 July at 7.30pm at the Winter Gardens.
