Brian Harper

 

The Orchestra's Summer Concert in 2009 marked the first appearance of our present Conductor, Brian Harper.


Originally from London, Brian studied at Sheffield University.  Since graduation, he has amassed a wealth of experience as a performer, conductor and teacher and he has appeared in all the major concert halls in London and in numerous broadcasts on BBC radio.  He has played with many of the finest brass bands in the UK including the world famous Brighouse and Rastrick.


Brian is a freelance trumpet and cornet player.  He has played with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Golden Age which is a period orchestra using natural baroque instruments.  He also plays with several   ad-hoc orchestras comprising players from the Halle and Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestras.
